Hobbies

Mama Kat's Writing Workshop - a few days late.

Mike and I both were down and out this whole week from a stomach flu. We are both now up and moving around. I, luckily, had a less severe version. I want to get caught up with my writing workshop today.

This week I chose the topic:
A hobby you would pursue if you were the type to pursue hobbies.

I am the type to pursue hobbies, but I haven't learned the one skill I really want to learn yet. I want to learn how to knit or crochet. I think it would be incredible to be able to knit/crochet a big cozy blanket for myself. I guess I could do it for others as well, but really I just want one for myself. That may sound selfish, but I love cozy things!

I am jealous of people who can create cozy, adorable, knitted items. There are so many fun things on Etsy that are hand made, by the talented crocheters and knitters of the world. I want to become one of those people.

Especially, right now when it is 20 degrees outside, and will stay that way for the next two weeks.

My oldest sister and I have talked about taking a knitting class, multiple times. We haven't actually signed up yet. Hopefully, after the craziness of the holiday season, we will be able to actually sign up for some classes. I want to make this a reality!

You should join us over at Mama Kat's writing workshop. She releases new topics every Thursday. Check her out over here:

Even if you don't blog, she is one funny lady. I really enjoy following her blog, and it has brought me many laughs!

  1. I learned to crochet when I was in college and it was totally therapeutic and wonderful. I can see how people might get addicted to a hobby like that! Unfortunately I'm terrible at it. My ends never matched up so my blankets ended up having a really weird slant. Needless to say, I threw in the towel on that one!
