Day 4: Legacy

When Connor was born, we were given this blanket and hat. He was wrapped in it lovingly. The blanket and hat were made with love. We have these items to cherish. I wouldn't say they are the most important to me, but knowing that they were wrapped around him does make them important.

Losing Connor really opened my family's eyes to pregnancy and infant loss. Connor's Aunt Dawn, my sister, has done a few great things in his honor. She has made quite a few bracelets for other's who have lost their son/daughter. I will post more about those on a later day. These would not have happened if not for Connor.

Dawn has also done something else that is fabulous in honor of Connor. She spoke with a local retirement community. They have a knitting group that meets regularly. Now, their project is to make blankets for babies who are born too soon.

I like to think about other babies being embraced by a love filled blanket, made in honor of Connor. He will always live in our hearts, but in small ways he will be helping others also.

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness month. I'm participating in the Capture Your Grief project. This project was set up by another blogger. It is a way to travel through grief, with others. I will not stress myself out if I don't get every single day. Some days may only be posted here, others only on Facebook, and some on both media outlets. Read more about it at this website.
