2.) “Currently”. A simple list of things you’re currently feeling as seen at Sometimes Sweet.
Reading: I am reading "1st to Die" by James Patterson. I realize I am pretty much over a decade late on this one. However, well. Whatever. I just picked it up from the library, e-book style! I'm really enjoying it! I don't know why I haven't given Patterson a chance before, but I will continue the series. His writing style is fabulous and makes for a quick read. I also really need to pick up my book club book for August, "Inferno" by Dan Brown.
Listening to: So, funny story. I just discovered St. Louis Public Radio. I don't know what the station is exactly. It is FM. I found it while searching the radio one day when I was overly sick of every song on every station. They talk a lot on this station, and I'm loving it! They have people tell random stories. This lady the other day told me, on my way to work, all about how she lived a double life! So interesting, and a refresher from all the same old music. They very rarely have any music, and right now that fits my mood.
Feeling thankful: for the lovely weather we have been experiencing this year. Think about last year, especially if you are in the St. Louis area. We were baking alive. In mid- May it was hitting 100. It was absolutely miserable. I didn't step outside unless it was 200% necessary. This year we were blessed with a prolonged Spring. Even if it did rain a lot. I'm thankful for that too. I have only watered the flowers in Connor's garden about three times since they were planted because of all the rain.
Thinking about: my family. We are dealing with some serious health stuff in my family right now. It has me concerned. I'm hoping we find out "good" news coming up. It is not my health report to tell, but any prayers/good thoughts for good health are more than appreciated.
Eating: Red Lobster biscuits. At home. I have some fabulous friends. One of those fabulous friends is Kristen. Hi Kristen! She once, at least a few weeks ago, mentioned that Sam's sells the mix to make Red Lobster biscuits at home. You know the ones; cheesy, garlicky, magical. She surprised me and dropped off a box of the mix. I made some last night, and still have two more batches sitting in my pantry! Yum!
Watching: New Girl. Again, I'm sure I am late on this train. This show is fantastic. I love it. It makes me laugh out loud multiple times each 20 -somewhat- minute episode. Plus, I love me some Zooey Deschanel. I would like to be her best friend. I realize that is creepy. I don't care. If you don't know, Mike and I only have Netflix. We got rid of cable a few months before we moved. We never watched it. Never. It was a waste of money. We haven't regretted it once. They only have one season of New Girl on Netflix so far. I have a feeling that I will be through the 24 episodes in approximately three days. That may be an exaggeration. I will then have to find a place online to watch the other seasons.
Bummed out on: my summer schedule. I am actually ready for the school year to begin again. I have been working a lot of evenings and weekends. My summer job is pretty enjoyable. It is a local place, that people really enjoy. They choose to go there, so they are genuinely happy when they are there. However, I'm used to my school job schedule! Ready to own my evenings and weekends again!
Loving: My nails! I never paint my nails, or do my make up. I am not super girly in that manner. I went to an online Jamberry nail party and won a set of nails. I picked some bright, pretty, pink ombre nails. I applied them last night. I was fully expecting a horrible mess. They turned out adorable! Check out Insta Friday tomorrow for a picture! I'm excited about this discovery and may be having a party in the future to hopefully earn some free nail sheets.

That radio station sounds awesome. Better than the talk radio my husband listens to!
ReplyDeleteI love it! This past weekend they had a special topic of camps. Tons of people telling stories of summer camps they had attended. I don't know! It is just interesting stuff!
DeleteI love NPR, especially Big City NPR! I've discovered authors and new music and all kinds of fun stuff listening to it.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have cable either, and haven't for about ten years. Last summer, we got Netflix. Living large!
We don't miss cable at all! If you haven't given it a chance yet, watch the new Netflix original "Orange is the New Black". Seriously hilarious! We love it! :)
